The concept was to approach the open space of the building as part of a seaside bluff landscape, with a top that is very exposed to the elements: “The Mesa”; sides that are visible from the street and that show distinct layers of stone and plants: “The Bluff”; and the enclosed spaces that are lush and verdant: “The Canyons”.
